Oversized shirt back pattern

  • AT = Back waist length according to measurements.
  • TE = 18 cm (for all sizes).
  • EH = 7 cm (for all sizes). From points T and E, draw horizontal lines to the right.
  • AA1 = 2 cm (for all sizes). AB = 1/6 Neck circ. (according to measurement) + 0.7-1 cm (ease allowance). Draw the back neckline as shown in Fig. 2.
  • BB1 = Shoulder length + 11-12 cm (shoulder lengthening depending on size). From point B1 draw a vertical line down. At the intersection, points T1 and E1 were obtained.
  • B1B2 = 6 cm (for all sizes). B2B3 = Armhole depth according to measurement + 3 cm. B3C = 1 cm. Connect points B2-C with a straight segment.

Back yoke. A1C1 = 15.5 cm (beginning yoke). From point C1 to the right, draw a horizontal segment C1C2. C2C3 = 0.5 cm. Connect points C1-C3 as shown on diagram. Draw the back yoke and cut it out.

Pleat on the back. С1С4 = НН1 = 4 cm (central back pleat).

Seam side line. T1T2 = 3 cm. E1E2 = 1-1.5 cm. Draw a seam side line, connecting points C-T2-E2 with a curve line.
Draw the hem line H-E2 as shown on diagram.

Oversized shirt front pattern

Use the back pattern to draw the front pattern. The control lines are the waist line and the shoulder line (point B2, Fig. 2).

  • TA = Front waist length according to measurement.
  • TE = 18 cm (for all sizes).
  • EH = 7 cm (for all sizes). From points T and E, draw horizontal lines to the left.
  • AA1 = AB = 1/6 Neck circ. + 0.7-1 cm (ease allowance). Draw the neckline of the front as shown on Fig. 2.
  • BB2 (back) = BB2 (front). The length of the front shoulder is equal to the length of the back shoulder. From point B (front), draw segment BB2 so that point B2 lies on the base horizontal line from point B2 (back). From point B2 draw a vertical line down. Points T1 and E1 were obtained At the intersection.
  • B2B3 = Armhole depth according to measurement + 3 cm. B3C = 1 cm. Connect points B2-C with a straight segment.

Seam side line. T1T2 = 3 cm. E1E2 = 1-1.5 cm. Draw a seam side line connecting points C-T2-E2 as shown on diagram.
Draw the hem line as shown in Fig. 2.

Shirt Placket. НН1 = НН2 = 1.5 cm. Н1Н3 = 3 cm.

Square down 17 cm from point A1 and mark the top loop about 1.3 cm long. The distance between the loops is about 7 cm. Mark 5 vertical loops. For more information on how to correctly mark loops on a garment, see the lesson Loops marking

Oversized shirt sleeve and cuff pattern

Use the back pattern to draw the sleeve (Fig. 3).

From point B2, draw a horizontal line of arbitrary length to the right. Extend segment BB2 to the right (dashed line). Divide angle h in half.

B2F1 = Sleeve length as measured minus 16 cm (for all sizes). Sleeve bottom line length F1F2 = 1/2 Wrist circ. + 14 cm (for all sizes). Draw F1F2 perpendicular to B2F1. Connect points C-B2 and C-F2 as shown on diagram.

Placket cut. MF1 = MF2. MM1 = 10 cm.
Trace the sleeve pattern (gray color part) onto paper completely along the fold line. Mark 2 folds along the hem, each 3 cm width.
